Thelma Kamala “Nana” Kaniho, 86, of Waimea died Jan. 19, 2013, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born April 15, 1926, in Waimea, she retired from Budget Rental Car and GLI Hardware Store; worked at a pineapple cannery, Keaau Nut Factory, National Dollar Rent a Car and Hertz Rent a Car; and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea (1st Ward), Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club and Waimea Senior Citizen Club.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waimea (1st Ward) for an 11 a.m. service. Burial is at Waimea Cemetery (Mormon Section). Family requests casual attire. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by sons, Kenneth (Laverne) Kaniho of Laupahoehoe, Klem (Janice) Kaniho of Waimea, Seymour Kaniho of Ontario, Calif.; hanai son, Jonah Kuahine of Honolulu; daughter, Karlette Kaniho of Waimea; brothers, David (Gwen) Bell of Honolulu, Robert (Leslie) Bell and Autry (Holly) Bell, both of Waimea, Sam Bell of Kalopa; sister, Mary Ann Lindsey of Waimea; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three-great-great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
