Hawaii Electric Light Co. said approximately 4,369 customers in Kohala, Pepeekeo, Kaloko and parts of Hilo lost power Monday after Hawi Renewable Development Wind Farm tripped off line at about 11:29 a.m. Load shedding by HELCO was instituted to protect equipment, triggering the power interruptions. Power was restored in about 7 minutes, according to HELCO.
