James “Jimmy” Bell, 61, of Waimea, died Dec. 29, 2012. Born July 26, 1951. in Philadelphia, Pa., he was an alumnus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a commercial fishing vessel captain in Kodiak, Alaska, and a mechanical engineer
James “Jimmy” Bell, 61, of Waimea, died Dec. 29, 2012. Born July 26, 1951. in Philadelphia, Pa., he was an alumnus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a commercial fishing vessel captain in Kodiak, Alaska, and a mechanical engineer working for TRW in Redondo Beach, Calif., PICHTR in Honolulu, Institute for Astronomy at UH-Manoa and W.M. Keck Observatory in Waimea. He also volunteered for Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii and North Hawaii Hospice.
A private service was held. Memorial donations in his name may be made to PATH or North Hawaii Hospice.
He is survived by wife, Celeste Bell; sons, Richard Bell, both of Waimea, Jeffrey (Marion) Bell of Olathe, Kan., Alexander Bell of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sister, Lydia (Sebastian) Bell of Cape Cod, Mass.
