Richard DeSa

Richard Augustine DeSa, 71, of Pepeekeo died Nov. 30, 2012, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honomu, he was a retired regional manager with the Army Air Force Exchange Servic and a former professional baseball player in Japan with the Daimai Orions and the Kintetsu Buffaloes.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Jan. 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at Homelani Memorial Park for a graveside urn committal service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Kotone DeSa of Pepeekeo; sons, Richard (Lisa) DeSa Jr. of Mililani, Oahu, Dean (Nami) DeSa of San Jose, Calif.; daughter, Susie (John) Dill of Pepeekeo; brothers, Joseph DeSa Jr. of Honolulu, William (Linda) DeSa of Las Vegas; sisters, Shirley (William) Ferreira and Marilyn (Reynold) De Costa, both of Hilo; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
