Big Island police have identified a man who drowned in a Papaaloa ravine last month as 31-year-old Yogi Yoswara, who had been reported missing.

The San Gabriel, Calif., man was reported missing on Dec. 19. His body was found Dec. 31 in a ravine in the Kapehu Camp, mauka area of Papaaloa about 400 to 450 feet from the road that led to the home where he had been staying while on vacation, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Yoswara was identified Friday through dental records, and an autopsy determined he died from drowning, police said.
