The Department of Transportation warned motorists of the following lane closures this week:

  • Near Makalei, alternating single lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway in both directions between Hina Lani Street/North Kona Belt Road and Old Kona Village Road, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Monday through Friday for roadway reconstruction work.
  • Near Tanaka Junction, alternating lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway in both directions between Haawina Street and St. Paul Road, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for bank stabilization work.
  • Near Kalopa, alternating lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road in both directions between Kahawai Road and Hauola Road, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for guardrail installations.
