Thirty-five young inventors, joined by their parents, teachers, iTEAM inventor-mentors and community leaders, participated in the Holiday Invention Workshop and Fair at Salvation Army Corps Kona, Dec. 8.

The event featured HI-STEAM — Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Math and History, through Inventing. Children, ages 8 to 13, disassembled small appliances then used the parts to design and build fantasy inventions. They also played a Hawaiian inventors game, wrote about their inventions and were awarded certificates.
