Responding to the 12:40 a.m. report, firefighters found a Hoku Street single-story home engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii Fire Department. A family, including two parents and a child, were able to escape unharmed from the residence and the American Red Cross was providing assistance.
Firefighters got the blaze under control around 1:10 a.m. and declared it out by 1:20 a.m., according to the department. One nearby dwelling sustained minor damage.
No injuries were reported, according to the department. Damage was estimated at $68,500.
