Darrel Curtis Coats, 66, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 3 at his residence. Born March 16, 1946, in Los Angeles, he was a comedian, singer, retired long-haul truck driver, a former cook and Merchant Marine veteran.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Nancy Coats of Kailua-Kona; son, Christopher Coats of Texas; sister, Ronita Coats of Albuquerque, N.M.; stepdaughter, Maile Lewis of Albuquerque, N.M.; two stepgrandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
