Shiro Kanetani
Shiro Kanetani, 90, of Kurtistown died Nov. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 8, 1922, in Hilo, he was retired laboratory analyst for the former Puna Sugar Co. and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Masayo Kanetani of Kurtistown; son, Arnold Kanetani of Kurtistown; daughters, Karen Cambra and Patricia (Dan) Straight, both of Hilo, Gail Kanetani of Kahului, Maui; brothers, Masato Kanetani of Honolulu, Tomeo Kanetani of Kurtistown; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
