Big Island police are searching for a 32-year-old Waimea man who failed to return after a planned hike along the North Kohala and Hamakua coasts.

Big Island police are searching for a 32-year-old Waimea man who failed to return after a planned hike along the North Kohala and Hamakua coasts.

Joshua Horan was last seen in Waikoloa on Friday, according to the Hawaii Police Department. He was planning to hike into Waimanu Valley from Pololu Valley with two other men and was expected to return Sunday. He did not.

Horan is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes, according to police. He was last seen wearing black and orange surf shorts and no shirt, carrying a large black backpack.
