Gordon Wing Yen Tong, 91, of Hilo died Nov. 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired sergeant first class Army recruiter and World War II and Korean War veteran.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Amy Tong of Hilo; daughters, Rose Fishel of Monterey, Calif., Helen (David) Hurd of Hilo, Amy (Terry) Van Parys of Portland, Ore.; son, Brian (Judy) Tong of Costa Mesa, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
