HPA’s lower school students to perform

Hawaii Preparatory Academy second- and third-graders will present “Biomes: Animals and Plants in Their Habitats” at 1:45 p.m. Friday at the Gates Performing Arts Center on the school’s upper campus. The musical performance is free and open to the public and presented in conjunction with the students’ life science curriculum. Lower school music teacher Georgia Polakova directs.

The story is about a motley group of animals that escapes from the zoo in search of its own proper biome. To survive, the animals will have to learn about the desert, forest, grassland, freshwater, tundra and marine areas for which they are adapted.

This is the second in a series of musical productions by the lower school students. The kindergarten and first-grade classes will perform in February.

For more information, call 885-2501 or 885-2500.
