Toshiko “Elsie” Makida, 83, of Hilo died Nov. 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Napoopoo, she was a retired housekeeper with the former Hilo Lagoon Hotel and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
Private services were held.
She is survived by daughter, Kelly (Garth) Wilson of Hilo; son, Gordon (Carol) Makida of Hilo; brothers, George (Betty) Omori of Los Angeles, Kunitoshi Omori of Honolulu; sisters, Mie Saito of Honolulu, Emiko (Kenneth) Sakagawa of Wailuku, Maui; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
