Members of Kailua Village Business Improvement District interested in serving on the volunteer board of directors are invited to run for election. Terms for the six open board positions are two years and commence at the election held at the annual meeting, which will be March 15.

Operations are overseen by a 17 member board of directors. By ordinance, four of these positions are appointed — public works, finance department, mayor and district council member — and 13 are elected by the fee simple owners of land or lessees of land within the district. Six board seats will stand for election at the upcoming annual meeting.

Four of the six open seats will be filled by fee simple owners or lessees and two directors will be commercial tenants. Application deadline is Jan. 15. Applications are available online at historickailuavillage.com.

Yoga center offers holiday special

The Big Island Yoga Center, a Hawaii nonprofit corporation, is offering a special holiday rate — purchase a six-class pass for $50, a 30 percent savings off the regular rates now through Dec. 31. Classes start Jan. 2. Passes are good for any 1 1⁄2-hour class in the weekly schedule.

Gilmore is senior regional sales manager

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows has named Julie Gilmore as its senior regional sales manager.

Securing and managing group business for Southern California and the Southeast and Southwest regions, Gilmore returns to Mauna Lani Bay most recently from Hilton Hawaiian Village where she was senior sales manager for the West region. This role saw her manage all aspects of the group sales process for corporate, incentive and third-party group bookings. Prior, Gilmore was regional sales manager at Mauna Lani Bay after holding sales manager positions for the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach and Disneyland Resort Hotels in Anaheim.

Gilmore holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, travel industry management from the University of Hawaii. She resides in Southern California.
