Book shop fetes anniversary Nov. 24

Kona Stories book shop in Keauhou Shopping Center will celebrate its birthday and Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24.

Special events happening this day include photos with the Grinch from 1 to 3 p.m., a sangria beverage, door prices and gift wrapping. Shoppers can register for the grand prize drawing for “The Shark.” The winner does not need to be present at the time of the drawing to win.

Small Business Saturday, founded and sponsored by American Express, encourages shoppers to support small local businesses. It comes a day after Black Friday and two days before Cyber Monday.

Pony rides offered at market grand opening

Kings’ Trail Rides will offer pony rides during the Nov. 26 grand opening of the Green Market at Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden in Captain Cook. A $5 fee will be charged for a ride around a section of the garden. Adults are also welcome to ride the horses.
