Ruby Pua Keanaaina McDonald, 70, of Kohanaiki, died Aug. 5. Born Feb. 1, 1942, in Kailua-Kona, she worked for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs as a cultural and community outreach specialist, member of Kona Hawaiian Civic Club and sat on the Board of Advisory at Pohakuloa.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Sept. 1 at Keauhou Beach Resort for a celebration of life.

She is survived by sons, Darrell McDonald Jr. and Sterry (Rochelle) McDonald, both of Kohanaiki; daughters, Timi McDonald, of Kohanaiki, Jaelyn McDonald, of Puna, Darah (Russell) Acantilado, of Honokaa; brothers, William (Hazel) Keanaaina, of Maynardville, Tenn., Stacey (Ann) Keanaaina, of Germany, Marcel (Deborah) Keanaaina, of Captain Cook; sisters, Pearl (Firpo) Debina and Jewel (Ron) Carvalho, both of Kailua-Kona; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
