Luis Altura

Luis Habon Altura, 89, of Honokaa, died Oct. 21 at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Aug. 10, 1923, in Sapang, Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired vegetable farm worker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Friends may call at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 5 p.m. prayer service. Friends may call again at 8 a.m. Nov. 10 at the church for a 10 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial follows at the Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Maurino (Jeana) Altura, Lito (Lorna) Altura and Jimmy (Maripol) Altura, all of Honokaa, Rene (Mila) Altura of Philippines; daughter, Mila (Froilan) Gaspar of Paauilo; brother, Marcelino (Trinidad) Altura of Honokaa; 11 grandchildren.
