Francis C. “Russian” De Morales, 70, of Hilo, died Oct. 27 at home. Born June 9, 1942, in Pahala, he was a retired deputy chief of police for the County of Hawaii and a Navy veteran.

Friends may call at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. celebration of life. Urn committal will be at 9 a.m. Nov. 8 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Paula De Morales of Hilo; daughters, Kimberly (Albert Rosas) De Morales and Joanna (Bradley) Silva, both of Hilo; mother, Lillian De Morales of Hilo; sister, Carol (Leslie) Kanakaole of Hilo; brother, Joseph De Morales of Hilo; four grandchildren.
