Big Island police on Saturday responded to the report of a body found on a remote shoreline in Ka‘u.

Hawaii Police Department Area II Criminal Investigations Section Capt. Chad Basque said detectives were responding to the 11 a.m. report of a body found at a remote, inaccessible beach along the Ka‘u shoreline in the Kahuku area. Initial reports indicate the body was found at a campsite.

He said police may have to access the scene via boat. No further information was available.
