Kealakehe (9-1) and Hilo (7-2) will resume a game that league officials postponed last Saturday at 7 p.m. today at Kealakehe. The winner will host the winner of today’s Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division third-place game between Farrington and Leilehua. The first-round state playoff game will take place at Waverider Stadium if Kealakehe wins or at Wong Stadium if Hilo wins.
Kealakehe leads Hilo 20-14 with 58.8 seconds left in the first half.
The HHSAA released Division I and Division II state playoff brackets last night.
Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin (7-2) will host OIA Red runner-up Mililani at 5 p.m. on Friday in another Division I first-round game.
OIA Red champion Kahuku (10-0) received the No. 1 seed in the Division I playoffs, and Interscholastic League of Honolulu power Punahou (7-2) got the No. 2 seed. Both teams have first-round byes.
In the Division II playoffs, five-time defending state champion Iolani (7-3) earned the No. 1 seed, and Maui Interscholastic League school Lahainaluna (8-1), which beat Konawaena 23-6 in the first round of the Division II playoffs last season, grabbed the No. 2 seed.
The BIIF Division II champion Wildcats (9-4), the No. 3 seed, will host OIA White runner-up Nanakuli (6-4) at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in one first-round game, with the winner playing Lahainaluna at 4 or 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium.
Fourth-seeded Kauai (8-1) will host OIA White champion Radford (10-1) at 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at Kauai’s Vidinha Stadium, with the winner taking on Iolani at 4 or 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Aloha Stadium.
