Laurie Downey is Living Arts Gallery’s featured artist for November and December. A reception is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the gallery, 55-3435 Akoni Pule Highway, Hawi. Downey will present her watercolors, portraits of tropical flowers and Hawaiian scenes, as well as her more impressionistic oil paintings.
Downey paints from the experiences of her own life, as she grew up on the beaches of Southern California, then migrated to Hawaii. She has been involved in the arts since youth and has exhibited in both jewelry design and painting shows in California. She is a member of the Laguna North Gallery, as well as Living Arts.
The gallery is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
