Charles “Charlie” “Kale” L. Langer, 68, of Hilo died Sept. 26 at his residence. Born June 25, 1944, in San Francisco, he was a retired detective for the Honolulu Police Department and member of the Honolulu Police Department Big Island Ohana.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 1 p.m. celebration of life. Urn burial is at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo (Ilima Section). Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Marietta Langer of Keaau; daughters, Lea Langer Grupen of Kahaluu, Oahu, Lisa (Leo) Amador of Honolulu, Desiree (Ivan) Okinaka of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
