John Kamoku averaged 29 yards a carry, and Lii Karratti threw for 309 yards and seven touchdowns as Konawaena drilled Ka‘u on Friday in Pahala in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation football game.
The Wildcats scored 70 in the first half and rolled to a 91-8 win over the Trojans.
Konawaena improved to 7-1 in BIIF Division II and 7-4 overall. Ka‘u fell to 2-6 and 2-6.
Kamoku carried five times for 145 yards and touchdown runs of 11, 65 and 68 yards. Karratti had only three incompletions in 12 attempts, and he had scoring strikes of 4, 67, 3, 48, 60, 40 and 55 yards.
Chase Takaki added an 85-yard kickoff return to the fireworks.
The Trojans’ lone score came on a 70-yard pass from Chance Emmsley. The receiver’s name was not provided to West Hawaii Today.
