Frank Caravalho Sr.

Frank Rivera Caravalho Sr., 94, of Kapaau, died Aug. 20 at his residence. Born Jan. 29, 1918, in Halaula, he was a Kohala Sugar Plantation Co. worker, Sacred Heart Catholic Church member and former Kohala Senior Citizen Softball Team member. He was chosen to represent the state for the 80s and above Senior Softball World Series, represented the West Coast Softball Team and became VIP for the World Series Senior Citizens Softball League.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Sept. 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by sons, Frank (Joan) Caravalho Jr., of Halaula, Harold (Janice) Caravalho, of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Lola (Robert) Loebl, of Hilo, Sandie (Angelino) Torres, of Kapaau; sister, Dorothy Wells, of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
