Driver’s licensing
Driver’s licensing
Women need to take more info than men
I hope you will print my letter in order to enable other women on the island of Hawaii to avoid stress when renewing their driver’s license.
Last week, I attempted to renew mine, taking with me my birth certificate and my Social Security card as indicated on the white card of instructions sent to me by the Licensing Department. However, these documents were not sufficient for me to renew my license. Instead, since my birth certificate had one name on it and my current license had another, I am required to produce for the department the following documents:
birth certificate,
copies of adoption records (I was adopted by my mother’s second husband.),
copies of all marriage certificates reflecting name changes, and
c Social Security card
Bear in mind, I have been licensed in Hawaii for 17 years.
Now, the wrinkle and stumbling block I have. My adoption was in California and all adoption records are sealed, therefore I need legal assistance to appeal to the state for the release of the documents, and there is no guarantee this could happen. My parents, of course, are deceased.
As I stated before, I hope you will print my letter so that all other women needing to renew their licenses will be prepared before going to the Licensing Department.

Courthouse
Parking issues are a problem
I was a juror on a case at the courthouse. I am handicapped and need to use the parking set aside for us. Well, I had to use a lower area — not paved and a steep bank. I had to get the help of a person to get up the bank.
Another time, a repair truck was in the handicapped spot. I then had drive down to the back of the building and the sheriffs had all the parking.
The parking at our courthouse is a big problem. We need our new courthouse built now.
