Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Wednesday evening house fire in the Hawaiian Acres subdivision of Puna.
Responding to the 7:14 p.m. alarm, firefighters found a 900-square-foot single family home on Kea Road engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii Fire Department, which said the structure was vacant with three abandoned vehicles found on the property. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 7:50 p.m. and out by 8:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported. The department estimated damage at $120,000.
