Yoshio Ishikane, 97, of Hilo, died Sept. 2, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Oct. 5, 1914, in Paauilo, he was a retired carpenter, as well as a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Betsuin Hoyukai, Nohea Kumiai, and Hawaii Carpenters Union.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, where a memorial service begins at 3 p.m. The family requests casual attire be worn, no flowers, and no monetary contributions.
He is survived by sons, Jerry (Doris) Ishikane of Honolulu, Allan Ishikane of Honolulu, Harvey (Karen) Ishikane of Hilo; daughters, Karen (Kenneth) Suga of Hilo, Lynn (Layne) Yoshida of Hilo, Nora (Grant) Yoshida of Hilo; sister, Itsuko Sakamoto of Hilo; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
