A 22-year-old Hilo man is facing burglary, theft and firearms charges stemming to an investigation into reported burglaries in Hilo and Kona.

A 22-year-old Hilo man is facing burglary, theft and firearms charges stemming to an investigation into reported burglaries in Hilo and Kona.

Kawika Larinaga-Napihaa was charged Friday with two counts each first-degree burglary and second-degree theft and two firearms offenses, according to the Hawaii Police Department. His bail was set at $96,000.

Larinaga-Napihaa and two others were arrested around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in a business parking lot off of Makaala Street after police was discovered they were in possession of a firearm within a vehicle, according to the Hawaii Police Department. A second firearm, reportedly stolen in a Hilo burglary, was also located within the vehicle, along with a laptop reportedly taken during a Kona burglary.
