Manuel Ayuyu Atalig, 55, of Pahoa, died Sept. 2 at his home. Born May 20, 1957, in Rota, Mariana Islands, he was a self-employed carpenter, fisherman and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 for a celebration of life gathering at the family home in Hawaiian Paradise Park, 15-1359 20th and Kaloli. For more information, call 854-9497. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by daughters, Valerie Atalig, Leilani (James) Moniz, Ana-lynn Atalig and Alohalani (Jarrett Mactee) Atalig, all of Pahoa; brothers, John Atalig and Joe (Cecelia) Atalig, both of Pahoa, David Atalig, of Rota, Mariana Islands; sisters, Angelina Garces, of Rota, Mariana Islands, Natividad Borja, of Saipan; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
