Jacqueline “Jackie” Masae Kaya, 50, of Hilo, died Aug. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a WPC clerk at the Hawaii Police Department, member of Heritage Christian Fellowship and the Hawaii Government Employees Association.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Burial is at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 at Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by fiance, George Makua, of Hilo; parents, Asami (Lei) Kaya, of Hilo; brothers, Ronald (Carol Farias) Kaya and Randall (Candace Paul) Kaya, both of Hilo; sisters, Jasmine Iyo and Lorraine Lerma, both of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Todd Cantor

Todd James Kalanikoa Cantor, 42, of Kailua-Kona and Hilo, died Aug. 18 at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born June 15, 1970, in Kealakekua, he worked in the transportation industry.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 at Kona Baptist Church for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by son, Steven Cantor, of Hilo; mother, Mary Jane Cantor, of Honolulu; brothers, Peter (Iris) Cantor, of Kalaoa, William (Gail) Cantor and Paul (Sharon Sakai) Cantor, both of Kailua-Kona, Stanley (Ann Takitani) Cantor, of Kealakekua; sisters, Tessie Cantor, of Captain Cook, Mary (Joel) Toves, of Wahiawa, Oahu; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Abigail Kelepolo

Abigail “Abbie” Kupihea Kelepolo, 65, of Kailua-Kona, died July 15 at her residence. Born May 13, 1947, in Kealakekua, she was a waitress at the former Kona Inn Hotel and a member of the Salvation Army home league group.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 8 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church lot, next to the Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, for a 10 a.m. celebration of life. Family requests casual attire be worn. Loose flowers are welcome.

She is survived by husband, Nolbert Kelepolo, of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Alexandra (Bronson Malani) Kelepolo, of Hilo; brothers, Francis (Jessica Mano) Mokuohai, of Honaunau, Richard Mokuohai and Moody Castillo, both of Kailua-Kona, Jonathan Castillo, of Waimea; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank A. “Woody” Flores, 68, of Pahoa, died Aug. 17 at his home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired lineman for Mauna Kea Electric.

Hanae Fujimoto, 92, of Hilo, formerly of Kaumana, died Aug. 9 at her residence in Hilo. Born in Pepeekeo, she retired from Del Monte and was a Higashi Hongwanji member.

Private service were held. Family requests no monetary donations.

She is survived by son, Alvin (Grace ) Fujimoto, of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Mae (Ronald) Hasegawa and Thelma (Yasuji) Ohigashi, both of Honolulu, Dorothy (Kent) Ouchi, of Hilo; brother, Seimasa (Alma) Miyashiro, of Honolulu; sisters, Ruth Kaae and Rachell (John) Arakaki, Eleanor (Richard) Shiroma, all of Honolulu, Amy (Masumi) Fukushima of Honolulu, Yukie (Roy) Mento and Judy (Noburo) Mento, both of Papaikou; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Fumie Nakagawa, 82, of Hilo, died Aug. 12 at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired custodian at Hilo International Airport and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

She is survived by husband, Isao Nakagawa of Hilo; daughter, Joy (Renald) Fukuoka, of Wailuku, Maui; son, Neal (Jen) Nakagawa, of Hilo; brothers, Kiyomi Omoto and Harry (Kathleen) Omoto, both of Hilo; sister, Itsuko Murakami, of Hilo; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Emma Cordeiro Teves, 86, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 22 at her residence. Born March 16, 1926, in Kalopa, she was a homemaker.
