A Keauhou hotel is sporting a new name following a $16 million face-lift.
The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa will now be known as the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay, officials said Friday. Changes to the property include upgrades to guest rooms, public areas and meeting spaces. Sig Zane guided some of the design changes, using “culturally appropriate” designs, hotel officials said.
Work extended to refurbishing the landscaping and porte-cochere. The Silversword lobby bar will now host daily Sheraton Social Hour wine tastings. The hotel added 10 suites, increasing the total number to 24.
New oceanfront dining concepts include Rays on the Bay, which opens Sept. 9.
