Three Big Island men are facing various charges stemming from separate property crimes reported during July and August in East Hawaii.
Ralph Curtis Riveira, 54, of no permanent address and formerly of Pepeekeo, was charged Thursday with first-degree attempted burglary stemming from an alleged Monday morning attempted break-in of Pepeekeo residence, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Riveira allegedly tried to force open a window at a home, but was seen by a neighbor, who called police. He was arrested around noon, according to police
In a separate case, 31-year-old Tyson McDowell, of Papaikou, was charged with burglary, theft, promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a harmful drug, promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia stemming from a reported burglary Wednesday in Hilo, according to police.
In another case, 20-year-old Dennis Duane Lipps Jr. was charged Wednesday with two counts each second-degree theft and second-degree forgery and one count each first-degree burglary, second-degree identity theft, third-degree identity theft and third-degree theft in connection with a reported July 15 burglary in Nanawale Estates, according to police.
Lipps allegedly burglarized the home, removing several items including personal checks, according to police. He was arrested on Monday.
