Alnas and Dion Pouncil were each 3-for-5 for Hawaii (24-26), which stopped a modest two-game losing streak by winning the second game of a six-game series that will finish its inaugural season in the North American Baseball League.

Herrera (4-3) yielded only two runs in seven innings, allowing five hits and three walks. He struck out five.

Alnas, a Kamehameha-Hawaii graduate, scored three runs and gave the Stars a 4-0 lead with his first home run of the season in the fourth.

Matt Hibbert added a two-run double as Hawaii scored three runs in the eighth inning. Keoni Manago also drove in a pair of runs.

Nick Valdez was 2-for-3 with an RBI double as Maui (30-26) answered with three runs in the bottom half of the eighth.

Matt Walker (3-4) pitched six innings and took the loss. He allowed five runs on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

The teams continue their series tonight at 5:35 p.m.
