Harold Santiago, 73, of Hilo, died August 9 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hakalau and retired as a sugar plantation farmer for Hamakua Sugar Plantation. He served in the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home today. Visitation is at 5 p.m., followed by a service at 6p.m. He is survived by his wife Beatrice Santiago; sons Thomas (Sheila) Malendres of Mississippi, Timothy (Shana) Malendres of Las Vegas, Jonathan (Michelle) Malendres of Las Vegas, Joshua (Francine) Santiago of Hilo, Oliver Santiago of France, Nick Santiago of Hilo, Hans Santiago of Hilo; daughters Eldergard Manasas of Hilo, Iris Camacho, Sasaki Santiago of New York, Pupi Santiago of Maui, Sabrina Santiago of Mexico; brothers Wallace (Julia) Santiago of Honolulu, Norman Santiago of Arizona, Stafford (Leslie) Santiago of Hilo, Stanford (Cindy) Santiago of Kona; sisters Stephanie (Russel) Lawrence, Caroline of Georgia, Kathy of Georgia; 33 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
