Sumie Wada Kon, 88, of Hilo died July 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hana, Maui, she retired as a teacher at McKinley High School on Oahu.
Private services to be held followed with burial at Homelani Memorial Park Veteran’s Cemetery #2. She is survived by her son, Robert Kon of Hilo; daughter, Barbara Kon of Hilo; brother, Mamoru (Chic) Wada; one grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home, Hilo.
