First-place San Rafael (27-15), which split the six-game series with Hawaii, remains in good shape in the North division standings, six games up over the Stars (21-21) and Na Koa Ikaika Maui (21-21).
Hawaii starter Paul Jinkens pitched six quality innings of three-run ball on four hits and three walks, with three strikeouts.
Jinkens, 24, didn’t figure in the decision, but he gave his team a chance to win.
Roman Martinez suffered the loss in relief, pitching the final three innings.
Matt Stabelfeld picked up the win with 1 1⁄3 innings.
Keoni Manago went 3-for-5 and leads the team in hitting with a .385 batting average. Dion Pouncil went 2-for-4 but made a costly error.
