Kensuke “Ken” Miyahara, 96, of Waiohinu, died June 17 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired vegetable farmer and member of Naalehu Hongwanji Mission and Naalehu Hongwanji Kumiai.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by wife, Hanako Miyahara, of Waiohinu; sons, Paul (Renee) Miyahara, of Kurtistown, Jon Miyahara, of Honolulu; daughters, Dawn (James) Pitton and Jill (Paul) Marquez, both of Honolulu, April (Matt) Luera, of Volcano, Joy (Rory) Murata, of Mountain View; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
