Kenji Kanekuni, 95, of Hilo, died July 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Hilo, he was a retired manager of the former Hawaii Grocers Ltd. in Hilo. He was also a member of the Crescent City Lions Club, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Daijingu, Honomu Henjoji Mission (Odaishisan), and the Yamaguchi Kenjinkai.

He is survived by daughter, Florence (Jerry) Miyazono of Hilo; brothers, Isamu (Aiko) Kanekuni of Hilo, Yoshiaki (Connie) Kanekuni of Honolulu, Morris Setsuo Kanekuni of Seattle; one granddaughter; numerous nephews and nieces.
