George Shizuo Kuwada, 91, of Kailua-Kona, formerly of Honolulu, died July 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee and a retired Iolani School basketball and golf coach.

George Shizuo Kuwada, 91, of Kailua-Kona, formerly of Honolulu, died July 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee and a retired Iolani School basketball and golf coach.

Visitation will take place at noon July 28 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary, where a funeral service begins at 1 p.m. The family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by spouse, Kay Toshiko Kuwada of Kailua-Kona; son, Carl (Yvonne) Kuwada of Aiea, Oahu; daughter, Carrie (Mark) Kuwada Phipps of Kailua-Kona; three nephews and a niece.
