Elizabeth “Betty” Carvalho, 80, of Honokaa died July 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kalopa, Honokaa, she was a retired industrial relations office supervisor with the former Paauhau and Hamakua sugar companies. She was also a member of the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa Senior Citizens, Honokaa Saranay Club and the Visayan Club of Honokaa.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. July 26 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, where a Mass begins at 7 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 to 11 a.m. July 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo, where a prayer service begins at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by sons, Roger (Sonya) Carvalho of Hilo, Ray (Annie) Carvalho of Honokaa, Ricky (Kamomi) Carvalho of Hilo; brothers, Nicholas Enanoria of Honokaa, Andrew (Violet) Enanoria of Hayward, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
