Christopher Michael Landers, 38, Waimea, died July 12. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Nov. 25, 1973, he was a certified nursing assistant at North Hawaii Community Hospital, a CPR instructor, and an unexploded ordinance technician. He attended University of Hawaii Community College, was a member of the National Honor Society (Phi Theta Kappa) and the Hui Wa’a Waikoloa Canoe Club.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. July 21 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea for a noon funeral service. The family requests aloha attire worn and flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to “North Hawaii Community Hospital Education Department.”

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Landers of Waimea; sister, Kimberly (Martin) Pratt of Waimea; brothers, John (Stephanie) Landers of Waikoloa, Robert (Melissa) Landers of Waimea; maternal grandmother, Julia Varlotta of Altoona, Pa.; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
