Masako Uehara

Masako Uehara, 95, of Hilo, died June 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 25, 1916, in Hakalau, she was a retired farmer and member of Hui Okinawa, Sho Shin Kai Koto Club, Wainaku Kumiai, and Aunty Sally’s Luau House Senior Citizens.

Private services were held.

She is survived by sons, Matsu (Cheryle) Uehara Jr. and James Chinen, both of Hilo, Donald (Cynthia) Uehara, of Los Angeles; daughters, Ruth (Dennis) Sevilla, of Modesto, Calif., Kathy (Tashiro) Okunami, of Hilo; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
