Alexander “Mona” Keonaokalani Amina Sr., 83, of Hilo, died June 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 31, 1929, in Hilo, he was a resident manager at Kokea Gardens Condominium in Honolulu and member of Kawaiahoa Church in Honolulu and Haili Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. July 14 at Haili Church for a 9:30 a.m. service. Inurnment follows at Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Online condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.

He is survived by sons, Alexander Amina Jr., of Hilo, Russell Amina and Shane Amina, both of Honolulu; daugthers, Jolyn Caingles, of Hilo, Lynette Amina and Tanya (Alan) New, both of Honolulu; brothers, Frederick (Ada) Amina, of Honolulu, Edward (Susan) Amina, of Waipio, Oahu, Thomas (Philsun) Amina, of Manoa, Oahu, James (April) Amina and Stuart Amina, both of Honolulu; sisters, Jacqueline (Herbert) Rapoza and Peggy Fukuhara, both of Hilo, Lillian Bargamento of Mililani, Oahu, Wilma Villanueva and Michele (Don) Riley, both of Honolulu, Melva (Edwin) Chung-Hoon, of Wahiawa, Oahu, Ellen (Leroy) Naeole, of Makakilo, Oahu; sevengrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
