Horne previously served as a school improvement administrator for Ontario High School in eastern Oregon. He helped turn around what was one of that state’s lowest performing high schools, making No Child Left Behind Adequate Yearly Progress in just two years.

The Waimea school year begins July 30. The school’s annual back-to-school Gear Up, an opportunity to pick up class schedules and purchase uniforms, pay for busing and lunch, yearbook and student dues, is planned from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 23 to 27.

The supply list, calendar and uniform order form can be found at waimeamiddleschool.org.

No registration is required for students from Waimea Elementary, but families coming into the school from other schools should stop by the office as soon as possible to complete registration.
