Big Island police are investigating the theft of more than $50,000 in siding and roofing material this week in South Kohala.
Some time after Monday, approximately 400 sheets of iron siding and roofing were removed from the Kawaihae Industrial Area, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The missing materials are made from 24-gauge iron siding/roofing and are about 24-by-4 feet in size. Some of sheets are blue and some are white.
The value of the material is estimated at more than $50,000, according to police.
