On Thursday night, Martinez entered the ninth with the bases full of Grapes, but Sonoma rallied for two runs and defeated Hawaii 3-2 in a North American Baseball League game at Wong Stadium.
Hawaii reliever Paul Jinkens, who started the ninth, left a mess for Martinez, who had a similar situation on Wednesday night and escaped with no damage done.
Jinkens walked the first two batters he faced, then beaned Mark Micowski, promptly getting yanked for Martinez.
The Stars (6-3) and Grapes (4-5) play at 5:35 p.m. today at Wong Stadium in the fourth game of a six-game series.
Stars starter Andrew Miller went 6 2/3 innings and gave up a run on four hits and three walks in the no-decision.
In 1 1/3 innings, Jinkens allowed two runs (one unearned) on a hit and three walks for the loss.
Matt Hibbert batted 2-for-4, raising his batting average to .469, to lead the Stars, who managed just six hits.
Anthony Williams went 2-for-2 for Hawaii, while local product Reece Alnas was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, bumping his batting average to .189.
Mike Hebert started for the Grapes and allowed two unearned runs in five innings.
Nick Alexander pitched two scoreless innings for the win.
