Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Thursday evening brush fire that consumed about 90 square feet in Kailua-Kona.
The fire, reported about 7:30 p.m. in vacant land mauka of the University of the Nations, was declared under control within five minutes of firefighters’ arrival, said Kailua Fire Station Capt. Todd Vincent. Mop up efforts continued into the evening.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, Vincent added.
