Roberts, who also doubled twice, lined a 2-1 pitch from Brian Fuentes into the left-field seats to give Arizona its only lead of the game.
J.J. Putz (1-3) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the Diamondbacks’ fifth victory in six games.
Fuentes (2-2), who blew his third save in eight opportunities, walked Chris Young with two outs before Aaron Hill singled to bring up Roberts.
NATIONALS 7, RED SOX 4
BOSTON — Stephen Strasburg struck out 13 in six innings, Bryce Harper homered, and the Nationals picked up the franchise’s first victory at Fenway Park.
Harper hit a two-run shot in the fourth and an RBI single in the sixth as the club improved to 1-9 at Boston’s iconic home. The Montreal Expos dropped all six of their games at Fenway before moving to Washington.
Strasburg (7-1) threw a career-high 119 pitches and gave up two runs and four hits while improving to 4-0 with a 2.74 ERA in his last four starts.
Tyler Clippard got two outs for his sixth save.
Boston’s Adrian Gonzalez hit his 200th homer, a solo shot in the eighth. Felix Doubront (6-3) got the loss.

SAN FRANCISCO — Craig Gentry had a career-high five hits and drove in two runs, Matt Harrison pitched his third career shutout, and Texas beat San Francisco in a rematch of the 2010 World Series.
Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler homered as Texas earned its first victory in San Francisco’s waterfront ballpark after an 0-11 start, including two during the memorable Fall Classic that went to the Giants.
Harrison allowed five hits, struck out four and walked none to outlast Barry Zito (5-3) in a matchup of left-handers. Harrison (8-3) also tied Tampa Bay’s David Price for the most wins in the American League.
YANKEES 9, METS 1
NEW YORK — Robinson Cano homered twice and hit one of three straight long balls off an ineffective Johan Santana, leading the New York Yankees to a rout of the Mets.
Hiroki Kuroda allowed one hit in seven scoreless innings before leaving with a bruised left foot. Cano ended Santana’s bid for a second straight no-hitter with a two-run shot in the second, then connected again in the third with a runner aboard to begin a string of three consecutive home runs in a span of 11 pitches.
Nick Swisher and Andruw Jones followed with homers, the first time Santana has served up three in a row. The two-time Cy Young Award winner is 0-3 with a 12.21 ERA in three starts at the new Yankee Stadium.
PHILLIES 9, ORIOLES 6
BALTIMORE — Jim Thome doubled twice, legged out an infield hit and got his first RBI of the season, and Shane Victorino homered and drove in five runs as Philadelphia emphatically ended a season-worst six-game losing streak. Mike Fontenot homered for the Phillies, who scored six runs in the second inning.
Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy homered for the Orioles, who lost for the ninth time in 12 games.
PIRATES 4, ROYALS 2
PITTSBURGH — Erik Bedard pitched seven solid innings, Neil Walker had three hits, and Pittsburgh won for the 10th time in 13 games.
Bedard (4-6) allowed two runs and five hits as Pittsburgh captured the opening game of a series for the sixth consecutive time. The Pirates (30-27) also moved three games over .500 for the first time this season.
REDS 6, TIGERS 5 (10)
CINCINNATI — Wilson Valdez’s squeeze bunt with one out in the 10th inning scored Miguel Cairo and gave Cincinnati the win.
Cairo started the rally against left-hander Phil Coke (1-2) with his first triple of the season. One out later, Valdez pinch hit and bunted toward first baseman Prince Fielder, who threw home barehanded. Cairo slid his left hand over the plate before the tag.
Sam LeCure (2-1) pitched two innings, striking out three of the six batters he faced.
ASTROS 8, WHITE SOX 3
CHICAGO — Jed Lowrie, Brett Wallace and Brian Bogusevic homered for Houston, which got a strong effort from the bullpen.
Houston’s win was just its third in the last 13 games. Chicago lost for the fourth time in 15 games.
Lowrie’s 11th homer, following a two-out walk to Jordan Schafer, gave the Astros a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning. Chicago starter Gavin Floyd (4-6), who has given up six homers in his last two starts, walked two and struck out nine over six innings.
Wallace had a solo shot off Floyd in the second, and Bogusevic delivered a three-run homer in the ninth off Will Ohman.
RAYS 5, MARLINS 1
MIAMI — Matt Joyce homered, doubled and scored three times, and Tampa Bay escaped several jams to beat slumping Miami.
The Marlins went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. They are 1-for-28 in those situations during their homestand, losing all four games while totaling four runs.
Joyce went 2-for-3 with two walks, hiking his on-base percentage to .409. Jose Lobaton had two doubles and scored once.
BRAVES 4, BLUE JAYS 3 (10)
ATLANTA — Jason Heyward stole third base and scored on catcher J.P. Arencibia’s throwing error in the 10th inning as Atlanta beat Toronto for its fifth straight victory.
Heyward opened the 10th with an infield single off Francisco Cordero (1-4) and moved to second on pinch-hitter Jack Wilson’s sacrifice. With rookie Andrelton Simmons at the plate, Heyward took off for third base. Arencibia’s throw skipped past third baseman Brett Lawrie and into left field, allowing Heyward to score the winning run.

ST. LOUIS — Josh Tomlin scattered eight hits over seven innings, Johnny Damon hit a two-run homer, and Cleveland sent St. Louis to its seventh loss in 10 games.
Tomlin (3-3) pitched shutout ball into the seventh, when he allowed a two-run single to pinch-hitter Matt Adams. He threw just 76 pitches, improving to 4-0 in interleague play, and singled to improve to 3-for-5 at the plate in his big league career.
ANGELS 7, ROCKIES 2
DENVER — Torii Hunter homered twice and drove in six runs to lead Los Angeles over Colorado.
Angels rookie Mike Trout had three hits and scored three times, and Albert Pujols had an RBI double to back C.J. Wilson (7-4), who struck out nine in eight innings.
Jordan Pacheco had an RBI triple for the Rockies, who have lost three straight.
Alex White (2-4) allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings.
TWINS 8, CUBS 7 (10)
MINNEAPOLIS — Josh Willingham’s RBI single in the 10th inning lifted Minnesota to the victory.
The Twins trailed 7-6 heading into the bottom of the ninth against Shawn Camp (2-3). Justin Morneau hit a tying triple to give Minnesota a chance, and Willingham scorched a single down the left-field line to win it in the 10th.

BREWERS 9, PADRES 5
MILWAUKEE — Corey Hart hit two homers for the Brewers, and rookie Martin Maldonado connected for a three-run shot.
Pinch-hitter Taylor Green contributed a two-run homer as Milwaukee earned its third consecutive victory after losing three of four at the beginning of its nine-game homestand. Shaun Marcum (5-3) pitched into the sixth inning to stretch his personal win streak to three starts.
