Infused oils class planned for Thursday

Infused oils class planned for Thursday

Tropical Edibles Nursery is offering a workshop on making infused oils that clean and detoxify the body using therapeutic herbs. Plant scientist Raven Bolas and ethnobotanist Momi Subiono will conduct the workshop. It will be an intuitive creation of a person’s own aromatic oils from plants the nursery has in the gardens, and the plants will be available to purchase. The herbs are commonly used for culinary purposes and therapeutic aromatherapy.

The students will take a walk in the gardens with staff members to identify, learn and gather herbs. With the fresh plants they will then infuse them into oil and make their own naturally healing concoction they can use daily.

The class fee is $30 per student. Each student will take home two jars of oils they made themselves.

The class will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the nursery located on the mauka side of Mamalahoa Highway in Captain Cook, just south of mile marker 108. A white mailbox at the bottom of the drive to the nursery is numbered 83-5696.

Call 328-0420 or email tropicaledibles@gmail.com to register. Messages will be answered and a payment guarantee reserves space in class.
